Well, here I am hoping that what I am writing will actually get posted to our blog. I really don't have a clue about what I am doing, sure, go ahead and laugh.
Mom and I really want to begin using our blog to keep everyone updated at the same time.
Tonight we are going to a concert at the Rexburg Tabernacle. A couple from our ward, who both sing opera, will be performing. Monday night we went to a home here in our complex for Family Home Evening, and were treated to an hour and a half classical violin and piano duet. It was great! So you can see that there are lots of neat things going on around here.
Sunday we are fasting for Taylor. She wants to make a decision about whether to go in the Navy or the Air Force upon graduation next year. If she signs up soon, she will be able to lock in the special benefits that are offered. As you can imagine, the upcoming election could change the benefits. We are really proud of her. She is taking this very seriously, and wants to do only what is right and best. She could get up to $70,000 for college.
I have really been working hard. I am the President of the Townhouse Association, and I have been working with the residents, insurance company and the contractors to get repairs done to the buildings.
Mom is really making progress on her book. She has a goal of being finished with the first draft by the end of Summer. I am really excited for her, and look forward to being able to read her book!
We are both working hard at the temple. Fridays we are in the Baptistry, and on Tuesday evening I work as a substitute upstairs.
We have planted a garden out at Doug and Marnie's, and we will have to start weeding soon. We should have a lot of really good vegetables this Summer. We planted, tomatoes, strawberries, squash, beans, peas, and several other things.
We are very excited about having family here with us for Young Scott's missionary talk on July 13. Two days later, Krista and I go to California to do Family History work. We will stay with Dad and Kay, but we will be visiting with many family members while we are there collecting information. Krista is talking her computer and scanner.
We want all of you to know how much we love you. We pray for you all the time, and wish only the best for you. We are proud of how you are doing, and the growth that you are all making in our lives.
