Celebrating Family

Hi Everyone!

Mom and I have had a busy and exciting couple of weeks. On July 13 Elder Scott Cameron Boivie spoke in Sacrament meeting, in preparation for departure on his Mission. He did a really good job with his talk, showing that he had prepared well, and was really ready to be a missionary. Krista, Scott and Garret were here. Also, Mary Jane and Stan, and Marnie's Mom and Dad, her sister Cammie, and her sister Becky and her family. After church was over, we had lunch for friends and family in the Rec Room of our complex. There were 30 or more people there. The food was good, the company better, and the friendship best of all.

The following Tuesday morning Krista and I left for Santa Rosa, California to be with Grandpa and Kay. A meeting of family members on my Dad's side was planned for Wednesday afternoon and evening. Krista and I wanted to gather as much Family History information as we could, because most of my Dad's family are quite old and some are in poor health. Also Bobby, Larry and Shari, my brothers and sister, were also invited. My Aunt Betty and Shari were not able to attend. I did talk to Aunt Betty and length on the phone, and will be getting information from here, and Krista and I spent time with Shari on Thursday. During the family gathering Krista scanned photos, and interviewed all family members using a video camera. We also wrote down lots of addresses and phone numbers. It proved to be a fairly productive trip. It was wonderful visiting with Aunts and Uncles, cousins and the rest of my family. Krista and I arrived back in Rexburg Friday night.

The next week, on Tuesday morning, Doug, Marnie, Scott and Taylor left for Utah. Scott needed to be at the MTC on Wednesday morning. On Wednesday Mary Jane and her Daughter, Stephanie came to visit and spend time with Krista. Stephanie also brought her great kids, Isaiah, Khamia and Sophie. We went to the Splash Park, ate pizza, ice cream and cake, and had a great time. That evening Doug came over, after his trip back from Utah. Marnie and Taylor had left for Girl's Camp. We all visited for quite a while. Krista headed home on Friday, with Doug taking her to the airport, because Mom and I had our shift at the Temple.

It is a wonderful thing to have a loving fun family, and to be able to celebrate special occasions together, and to share experiences and family information that helps bind us together in love, appreciation and understanding.
